About Lisa

I believe our bodies often notice what our minds haven't yet found words for.

My Story

For much of my life, I thought growth meant becoming more: more capable, more understanding, more resilient, more of what everyone else seemed to need from me.

Like many of us, I learned how to adapt long before I learned how to truly listen to myself.

Over time - through deep loss, motherhood, teaching, writing, and my own journey inward - I discovered something unexpected. The answers I was searching for weren't found by thinking harder. They began to emerge when I slowed down enough to notice what my body had been trying to communicate all along. That discovery changed the way I relate to myself and, ultimately, the way I support others.

Why I Do This Work

Today, I create spaces where people can pause, breathe, write, and reconnect with themselves through body-based writing and my signature use of non-dominant handwriting (NDH).

My writing experiences  aren't about writing beautifully or finding the 'right' answers. They're about creating enough safety and curiosity for something honest to emerge.

Again and again, I've watched people reconnect with forgotten parts of themselves, discover new perspectives, and remember they don't have to keep carrying every role they've learned to play.

It's a privilege I never take for granted.

A Few Things About Me

When I'm not facilitating writing experiences, you'll usually find me journaling, searching for the perfect neighborhood coffee shop, spending time with my adult children, or saying yes to experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and connection.

I'm an educator, writer, and lifelong student of how our stories, our bodies, and our relationships shape who we become.

Most of all, I believe we're not here to become someone new. We're here to remember who we've always been.

Meditation

Centering the mind to access the quietest parts of the self, allowing for a more authentic and intentional writing process.

My Philosophy

The foundation of my work is rooted in the belief that writing is a body-based practice that can reconnect us with our inner wisdom, our inner child, and the stories we've carried beneath the surface.

Somatic Practices

Integrating body awareness and gentle movement to deepen self-awareness, release physical tension, and reconnect with the wisdom already held within the body.

Non-Dominant Handwriting

Exploring non-dominant handwriting as a way to slow down, quiet the analytical mind, and create space for deeper insight, authenticity, and creative expression.

Some stories are too long to fit on an About page.

If you’d like to know me a little better, here are a few pieces of my writing that continue the conversation.

Sacred Mess

Personal reflections on body-based writing, grief, healing, motherhood, and coming home to yourself.

Let's Connect

If something in my story resonated with you, I'd love to continue the conversation. Whether you have a question, are interested in collaborating, or simply want to connect, I'd be grateful to hear from you.
